序数词由基数词变化而来。请牢记口诀：
基变序,有规律,词尾要加th 。一二三,特殊记, 词尾分别t d d(first second third ) 。

1、 the + 序数词
It’s the third time I’ve been here. 这是我第三次来这儿。
The second is better than the first. 第二个比第一个好。
【注意】 ① 考试比赛名次可省the：She was (the) third in the exam. 她考试得了第三名。
② 序数词前有物主代词或名词所有格省掉the： his second wife 他的第二个妻子

③ 序数词用作副词时也通常不用冠词the：　He came first. 他先来。
I should stand first. 我得先站起来。
④ 有些习语中的序数词前没有冠词：at first first of all
2、 a / an + 序数词
